Writing: Prompted poetry

Hello reader, and welcome to, or back to my blog.

Today in Writing (Hur 3) we were given a 'Who, what, where, when' prompt. We were instructed to write some sort of writing involving these 4 things, A person and a beast, a light source, 2:30 am and a dark forest. Here is the final product of my poem. If you enjoy it or have any feedback for me, please comment.

Walking through a dark forest,

Trees looming over me,

Leaves under my feet crunching,

This feeling is overwhelming.

I hear a noise,

My steps freeze,

‘Its nothing’ I thought,

‘It's just a gentle breeze’.

I continue walking,

My pace is speeding up,

My torch seems to go flat,

And I don’t have a backup.

Time seems to go on forever,

I look down at my phone

2:30 am, an uncomfortable time

I hate being alone

I can almost see the end of this dark and dreary forest,

But something stops me, though I don't want to stay,

‘Stay here, we’re your friends now,’

This voice seems to sway.

A hand reaches out to me,

‘Stay with me’ It pled

So I took it by the hand,

And into the darkness I was led.

Different types of sentences

For the past few weeks in Hur 3 we have been learning about 3 different types of sentences Very short sentences, the W start and Adverb start.  The very short sentence has 5 words or less and is commonly known at the end of a story to create suspense or drama. For example " the seedling grew" or " He slowly planted the seed" The W start is a sentence starting with one of the four w words where, while ,whilst, and when. For example. while the seed sprouted , we watched carefully, or ,when I filled the beaker the bean fell down. The adverb start  is a sentence that starts with a adverb for example , surprisingly the bean spouted, or annoyingly the bean flipped upside down.

Adverb and W starts.

Today in Hur 3 we practised our adverb and W starts. We wrote our sentences on whiteboards and showed them to the teacher for each of them. The adverb starts have to have an ly at the end for example happily, sadly, joyfully etc. The W starts need to start with one of the four W words ( whilst, when, where, while ).

A sentence with an adverb start could be something like.
Sadly, I had to walk to school on a rainy day. or
Carefully. I crossed the wooden bridge.

A Sentence with a W start would be something like.
While the teacher was gone, the students partied.
when the hurricane hit, we took cover.

Do you have any feedback for me  to try and fix my sentences.
