Reading, Percy Jackson and the lightning thief
Today for hurumanu I read Percy Jackson and the lightning thief and did the activity to draw about the main theme. I love reading Percy Jackson because it is a fictional story about a regular high school boy who got taken to a camp for the special. I found it easy to have fun but I found it challenging to draw it.

Hello Aliyah, I am so pleased to see your post and very much enjoy your picture of Percy. I especially like the way you have divided the head, perhaps to symbolize that Percy is part God and part human. The left side of the head appears to be a profile also. Very clever. I'm a little unsure of what Percy is holding in his right hand because the focus is slightly blurry (or maybe I need new glasses). In the left hand he could be holding a sword or a lightning bolt. Either is relevant to the story. I am pleased that you are showing your drawing and writing.
ReplyDeleteI saw an idea you might want to try: make a drawing with a real pen placed on your paper as Percy's sword. That is, draw Percy on paper holding a real pen (imaginary sword). :) Keep writing and drawing!
Hi Mr Collins
DeleteThank you for commenting on my blog
I did divide the head to symbolise that he is part human part god and yes it is slightly blury my Chromebook camera is not very good
Thanks for your reply. I really enjoy this drawing.
DeleteIt is very pleasing to see that you are engaging with our reading hurumanu Aliyah. I like your illustration portraying Percy Jackson, the emoji for the face is really cool and adds a contemporary touch. I have never read the book and am not sure what the theme of the book is, maybe you could explain the theme of the story so that your readers have a clear idea of what you are portraying. Keep up the great work, I can't wait to see your writing and maths tasks. It would be great of you can join our hurumanu meeting tomorrow at 9:30am. I will email you a link to the meeting.
