The NZ Gold Rush

Today in Hur1 we have been looking at the NZ gold rush, here are some facts I learnt about it.

1. Gold is valuable because it is rare and attractive.
2. Gold is found as small flecks in the veins of hard quartz rocks.
3. alluvial gold is found in rocks that have been worn down to sand.
4. if you asked and gold miner where the gold was they would say, "where it be there it be".
5. in NZ gold was mainly found in, Otago, Marlborough, Southland, The west coast, Golden bay and in the Coromandel Peninsula.
6. 4 properties to describe gold are Inert, shiny, Heavy and  Malleable.
7. The first Europian to find gold in NZ was Charles Ring from Tasmania in Driving creek in 1852.

I learnt a lot from his bu he main thing I learnt was people really liked gold and would use it to get out of poverty.

  2. Falling into the river
  3. waking up in Arsum's house and getting offered  the rice
  4. Mum coming in and being very grateful
  5. Thinking about why Arsum worshipped the portraits
  6. The two mums arguing again but standing up for Arsum and his "Bok Choy"

Tapa cloth

For the past while we have been making Tapa cloths. A Tapa cloth is a piece of natural clothe made from bark it is soaked and beaten into a piece of flat material, then designs get drawn on it using a natural ink made from other plants and vegetable dyes. The way we made it was we drew out some basic designs that represented things in the story "The Creation Of Tuna". The creation of tuna is a story that explains the Maori legend of how tuna was made. We drew 6 designs that represented something in the story, mine were. The 4 pieces of tuna, The river, The heavens , the heat tuna experienced in heaven , tipua (supernatural), the basket that they weaved to capture tuna.

Fried eggs on toast ( procedure writing )

Today in hur3 ( science and writing ) we did a practice procedure writing for when we write about our experiment. We wrote about what we might have had for breakfast. I had a lot of fun doing this even though I switched from another class.
Fried eggs on toast
Materiels
1.frying pan ( electric or on the stove)
2.Spatula
3. Eggs
4.bread
5.(optional) butter
6. (optional) salt and pepper
7.knife( butter )
8.toaster
9. plate

Ingredients
1. 2 eggs ( or 3 if you are extra hungry)
2. 2 or 3 pieces of bread depending on how many eggs
3. a small amount of butter
4 .a dash of salt and pepper

Steps
1.Turn on the frying pan
2.Place about a teaspoon of butter into the frying pan
3.Crack the eggs into the frying pan leave for about 3 mins
4.Place the toast into your toaster for about 1.5 mins
5.When the toast pops butter the toast and place on plate or place on plate without butter
6.Using your spatula pick up the eggs and place them on your plate
 7.sprinkle with salt and pepper
8.Turn of pan
9.Enjoy!

Conclusion

This is a good meal for breakfast because it is high in protein but be careful when
the toast comes out of the toaster it will be hot also the eggs will be hot when they
come out the frying pan.
