Words with two different meaning are called homonyms

The two meanings for bark are the bark on a tree and the noise a dog makes
he two meanings for bat are the animal and the baseball bat

Other homonyms are one and won, plane and plain, night and knight, pear and pair,missed and mist and many other ones.

  1. Hi Aliyah I like your picture you made of the pastel rainbow background with the word homonyms. You have chosen some great words to use in your blurb as examples and you have described them very well. this reminds me of when I had to do this but instead of homonyms it was rhymes. Which do you like better? rhymes or homonyms?
