2020 Hurumanu Learning Story

 Today in Hur 5 - Fastest and Furtherest we created a learning story. A learning story is basically a reflection on your learning from the past term, in this case what we learnt from Hur 5. Here is my learning story.

My Learning Story
Hurumanu:                             Fastest and Furtherest (Hur 5)(Math and P.E)
Name: Aliyah	Teachers: Tf, Ds			Term 4	2020
Reflection: Give at least three examples in each of the boxes below.
What We Did:  We did some things with angles, like measuring angles with a protractor and creating angles with a protractor. In P.E we did gymnastics using things like the Floor, trampoline, parallel bars, horizontal bars and a few other things. In math we also did isometric drawing which is basically drawing 3d shapes from an angle where you can see two sides.
What I Learned:   I learnt how to do isometric drawing and I found out that it's really fun.  The rules of volleyball and how to play. How to use a protractor properly and measure different angles.
My Favourite Part:  Gymnastics because we did a variety of things that I thoroughly enjoyed. Isometric drawing because I had never done it before and it ended up being fun. Using a  protractor to draw angles because I got to use something I haven't used before.
My Next Steps:  Measuring angles to a precise point using a protractor.  Creating my own nets to create different shapes. Using the horizontal bar to flip over it backwards.

Commitment I participated in all of the activities in Gym and in maths while trying my best.		Achievement I achieve much but the things I did achieve I was proud of.
Resilience I really struggled in gymnastics ( because I am not athletic) but I tried my hardest and participated.		Respect I respected all of my teachers and piers that were around me.

Heroes and villains writing

 This term in hur 4 we have been writing a story based on the theme "Heroes and Villains". We planed our story on a slideshow and then we wrote it in a shared document. I never finished mine but I plan to at some point. here is my plan and story so far.

It all started on a peaceful wednesday evening just as the sun was tipping over the horizon as the village of the sun was packing up for the night as everyone fell asleep not knowing what would happen the next day.

As the sun rose the next day, Phoenix got up and got ready for training. they slowly put on their armour and then dragged them self to the kitchen to eat breakfast, Cyra was already there making breakfast for them all,

“Morning Phoenix”

Blaze exclaimed,

“Uhh what umm, Hi Blaze, whats for breakfast”

Phoenix replied,

Cyra said,

“Pancakes”

“Mmm yummy”

Blaze said excitedly.

Once Cyra had finished making the pancakes, Phoenix and blaze devoured them in 5 minutes and went out to train,

“I’ll be out in 10 Minutes”

Cyra yelled across the room.

Meanwhile in the forest the starclan was planning trying to figure out a way to destroy the sun clan. After thinking for a while Shadow finally blurted out,

“ I know how to defeat them”

Moon Said sarcastically,

“Oh wow another one of your great plans we will totally defeat them this time”

Shadow replied,

“ No this time is will actually work, we just need to find a way to get inside the village”

Luna exclaim,

“That ain't happening unless one of us dresses up and dyes their hair like them blond and bright also we need contacts”

“ I know exactly how we can get in”

Shadow said sinisterly.

“ OH COME ON”

Moon cried

“ You said it would be the only way didn't you Moon”

Said Shadow

“Yes”

Moon replied,

Luna walked in and Laughed

“ HA HA HA HA HA HA HA what are you wearing moon”

The sun clans uniform

Moon replied

“And your hair its blond and you have blue eyes”

Luna said Laughing

SO WHAT YOUR HAIR IS BLUE”

Moon yelled

“ yeah it's pretty “

Luna said

Back in the village.

“Wow it's even a quiet month normally the star clan would have attacked at least once by now”

Phoenix exclaimed 

“DON’T JINX IT”

Blaze yelled

“Ok ok”

Phoenix said

“Excuse me”

“AHH AHH WHOS THERE”

Blaze screamed

“Oh sorry if I startled you”

Moon said in the sweetest voice she could pull of

“Who are you”

Phoenix said while pointing their sword at her

“Oh I’m um Alina nice to meet you”

Exclaimed Moon still using the sweet voice.

“Ok ima get some lunch”

Blaze said

“Hi I'm Phoenix”

Phoenix said while sticking their hand out to greet Alina ( Moon )

“Oh I know who you are”

Moon said

Moon put a bag over Phoenix's head Phoenix tried to scream but nothing came out, Moon knocked out Phoenix and dragged them back to their base

“Here they are “ 

Moon said while lugging phoenix along

“Took long enough”

Shadow scowled

“Whatever lets just get them into the cell”

Luna said

But shadow yelled before they could do anything

“Wait do they have anything on them to contact the other clan”

“Not that I can see”

Moon replied

“Good chuck them in a cell, we need to go raid a village”

“BEEP BEEP BEEP”

“THE ALARM, COME ON GUYS”

Blaze screamed

“Where's Phoenix”

Cyra exclaimed

“I don't know but it doesn't matter we have to fight”

Blaze and Cyra ran outside only to see the worst thing imaginable

With sword in hand and armor on body Blaze yelled

“BACK OF OR WE WILL CALL PHOENIX AND THEY WILL DEFEAT YOU”

“You can’t though we have them right here”

Shadow said 

“No Phoenix”

Blaze cried.

If you want them back, defeat us and this time your pity excuses for an attack is nothing without Phoenix.

NZ Animals

 For the past couple if weeks we have been making a DLO ( Digital Learning Object ) About a NZ animal, I choose Hoiho ( Yellow eyed penguin ). We had to answer some questions on it but I decided to go even further and work on some other things. Here is the link to the site that I made ( it includes the sites where I got the information).

 Today I interviewed  someone I didn't know very well in my wananga. We've  been thinking about questions that help us know someone but that are not dependent on gender.

gymnastics reflection

For the past few weeks in Hur 5 we have been working on gymnastics. I really enjoyed doing both the floor and the one where you jump of a mini trampoline onto a mat. I learnt how to do a flip on the parallel bars. Overall I think I did pretty well but I defiantly had a few things I needed to work on like building up my confidence so i can do things better along with building up my upper body strength. If I had longer to work on my gymnastics i would work on the bar because I don't have enough upper body strength to lift myself over the bar properly.

At some point I will put some photos on and explain them and what I was doing in them

Crossing chapters 1-3

 For the past term we have been working on a novel study about a book I choose the book Crossing. we had to do 3 activity to do with the book. I did a drawing of a part of the story that interested us, a acrostic poem and a map of the city. here are some pictures of the activity (I couldn't find the drawing).

Coastal wolves

 For the past week or 2 we have been looking at coastal wolves. we made a slide show or DLO (digital learning object) about them i made a slide show. here is my dlo I explain more about them in the slide show.
