Fingerprints

There are 3 different types if fingerprints, Whorls, Hoops and arches, today i'm going to explain each of them.

Whorls:

Whorl finger prints are displayed in 30%-35% of all prints, they are usually rounded in shape and have at least one complete circut. the most common fingers for this print to be on are thumb index or ring.

Arches

Why do some people get paid more than others?

Why do some jobs pay more?

Some jobs pay more beacuase they induce more stress and can be harder to deal with, for some jobs mistakes can mean nothing much like if a waiter spilled some water on someone, not a big a deal but, if a lawyer makes a mistake that can cost you millions of dollars. Jobs for things people need to get done pay more because there is higher demand for that product or service.

At this point in your life what kind of job would you like to have?

At this point in my life I would like to get a job in law, more specificaly a family lawyer.

what are the two most important things you need to ask when trying to make lots of money?

What can you do really well and how much stress comes with that job.

Writing: Prompted poetry

Hello reader, and welcome to, or back to my blog.

Today in Writing (Hur 3) we were given a 'Who, what, where, when' prompt. We were instructed to write some sort of writing involving these 4 things, A person and a beast, a light source, 2:30 am and a dark forest. Here is the final product of my poem. If you enjoy it or have any feedback for me, please comment.

Walking through a dark forest,

Trees looming over me,

Leaves under my feet crunching,

This feeling is overwhelming.

I hear a noise,

My steps freeze,

‘Its nothing’ I thought,

‘It's just a gentle breeze’.

I continue walking,

My pace is speeding up,

My torch seems to go flat,

And I don’t have a backup.

Time seems to go on forever,

I look down at my phone

2:30 am, an uncomfortable time

I hate being alone

I can almost see the end of this dark and dreary forest,

But something stops me, though I don't want to stay,

‘Stay here, we’re your friends now,’

This voice seems to sway.

A hand reaches out to me,

‘Stay with me’ It pled

So I took it by the hand,

And into the darkness I was led.

Healthy Living for Teenagers

 HEALTHY EATING

Eating healthy food is one of the most important factors to living a long and healthy life, eating healthy food improves your energy levels, and even mood. Food charts recomend you eat lots of vegetables and meats containg high amounts of protein and vitamins while cutting out most of the sugary foods.

SLEEP

The recomended amount amout sleep you should get every night is between 8-10 hours, however some people are able to get slightly less sleep then recomended without being tired. Sleep is healthy for you because it rests your mind allowing for it to regenerate energy for the next day and clear out all the 'clutter' or unnecessary information.

EXERCISE

Exercise is great for your body and your mind, physicaly it helps your blood circulate better, lowers the risk of heart and circulatory disseases and for people with type 2 diabetes, it helps your body use the insulin you have left. Mentaly, exercise can help clear your mind from bad thoughts while improving your memory and attention span at the same time.

HHS 2021

At Hornby high before the first day you have a short period of time (between 1-2 hours) where you get to meet your form/wananga teacher. "Whats a wananga teacher?" you might be asking, well, a wananga teacher is the teacher you spend 7 hours a week with doing things about wellbeing.

What about the other 5 hours of the day? We have different teachers doing either  hurumanu or other activities (P.E, Japenese, Maori, woodtech, etc).  Hurumanu classes are your normal run of the mill subjects (Literacy, maths, etc)

Hornby high can be fun with the many opportunities people get in school, things like Cantamath (A math competetion I recently participated in), Air velocity (A car race where you build the car you race in), Epro8 (A engenering competition).
