Today we are answering some questions about the book we are doing a novel study about. IO decided to read the book Crossing ,by Catherine Norton. We haven't actually started reading the book the questions that we are answering are based on what we can infer from the cover.
The impression I get from the front cover of this book is that it will be based on a young girl who has a interest in but does not have enough freedom because of her parents or other people.
The blurb on the back interests me because it seems like Cara (The main character in the book ) is a young girl who doesn't want to follow in the footsteps of her parents and she wants to live he own life and create a new path to follow.
After opening the book to any page ( I opened it to page 123 ) I read it and found it interesting and it made me want to keep reading because she was doing something that she wasn't meant to be doing and was very worried about it.
The author of the book is Catherine Norton, Catherine Norton is from England but moved to Australia (Adelaide). In 2015 Catherine was the joint winner of the NSW Premier Literacy award for children And in 2016 she was short listed for the Adelaide festival awards for literature.
The text is most likely to be fiction because of the fact that is is based in dystopian and is about things that would not likely happen in today's world.
I predict the book will be about Cara going on an adventure with her friends, Ava and Leon and will break rules and embark on a new path for their future.
This is a really well written blog post and I have enjoyed reading it. Have you read many dystopian fiction novels? This sounds link an interesting novel, I would like to read it when I have time. I wonder if the author has written other novels?
